Entry#7 Fresh

Fresh

Viewing this video was a real eye opener. I feel like their purpose wasn't to necessarily bash industrial farmers but to show positive alternatives. Like Joel Salatin showed that his farming method cost less and profits more and was more humane to the animals. Will Allen showed an inner city farm and showed that healthy options are always possible.

Watching this film also just reaffirmed beliefs I already have. I love food but I hate what industrial farms turn it into. I absolutely stand behind the belief that Americans should know what they're
eating because turning a blind eye doesn't make the issue go away. As cast Russ Kremer cast member of Fresh discovered when he ended up in the hospital because one of his Boars tusk punctured his leg and contracted a drug resistant bacteria he had created as an industrial farmer.

Overall it was a very well done documentary and it was very informative.

Entry#6 My Cat Dexter

 My Cat Dexter

My oldest cat had kittens and it was hard to decide which one to keep. Until I noticed the smallest kitten of the group. He was the most clumsy cat I had ever seen. He was always landing on his face and he was definitely the odd ball of the litter. Knowing that he had to be mine.

Today Dexter is the most clumsy cat I have ever seen and he is still an odd ball but he's picked up a few tricks along the way. I have taught my fat cat how to sit and lay down, he washes his paws in his cat bowl and he loves to eat weird foods.

There is never a dull moment with Dexter. He never fails to put a smile on my face whether he's sleeping on my head or trying to eat my food he's always entertaining. Dexter's weird diet consists of him licking my popsicles, eating my cucumbers, running off with my honey buns, and even trying to steal my Cheetos.

I love my cat and he gives my a new thing to laugh about every day. Some people are dog kind of people and some prefer cats. I love all animals but I know Dexter is by far the best pet I could ever ask for.

Entry#5 Wall-E

Wall-E

I recently watched a video that show a glimpse into the future from the kids movie "Wall-E."

The seen in the video shows what society is now. People are obese and sitting floating in chairs. They don't do anything for themselves they're assisted by robots and the constantly drink "food in a cup," because they're to lazy to do anything.

Something I found kind of funny was they were floating next to each other but they were to lazy to converse so they simply had a screen projected in front of them to talk to the person directly beside them.

This is relevant to society because people just sit around all day and talk over their computers or the internet so this seen in Wall-E has a deep meaning and an outlook on the life we know today.

Entry#4 A Day to Remember

  A Day to Remember

A day to remember I thought I write about it because its fast approaching. February 19, 2013..
the day my mother died.

My mother was a great person but she was definitely a character she love conspiracies whether it was bigfoot or aliens she had to know all about it. My mom also was a cat person. She always used to tell me if she made it to 70 she would be a little old crazy cat lady.

Its not easy losing someone you love but its inevitable and with her death I've become so strong. I take all the good memories and hold them close to my heart so this will mark the 2nd year and I hope as my life continues I will make her proud because my mother is my motivation.

Entry #3 Did you Know ?

Did You Know?

This video on you tube states a various amount of facts, statistics or, "did you knows."
I found many of these very shocking and some weren't so much. One that grabbed my attention was "For students starting a 4 year technical degree this means that... half of what they learn in their first year of study will be outdated by their third year of study."
Its amazing to me that technology moves that fast. Its kind of scary to think that those students are paying money to get a degree, and before they've finished its outdated and there is new information to obtain.

Another thing that caught my eye was "1 out of 8 couples married in the U.S. last year met online."
This is also jarring because technology creates a lack of communication in today's society and now people don't even meet "the old fashioned way," its all over the computer. I personally don't like the idea of online dating. Being that I'm not so trustworthy of a cyber relationship.

So while these facts are shocking and a bit scary it is good to know the world around you because, before you know it the world around you might be completely submerged in technology.
